It talks about how for years Spain has been trying to have a European identity and have gained it, in most aspects. However, the main aspect it has gained is the luxuries life style and over spending. I found it very interesting that it considered European identity as overspending. In a way it seems like they are pushing some blame for Spain's crisis on this European identity. Spain has accomplished some of the goals except being rich, which is one of the most important. It is possible for an identity to have an overspending or rich characteristic?
