Identity

I find this video quite entertaining but the reason I'm posting it is for the short conversation about background/heritage. I find it very true that people associate how you look to where you come from. Just the other day a guy walked up to my friend (my friend is black) here in Alicante and asked him where he was from. He said the U.S. then the guy went on and asked "where are you from originally? Which country in Africa did you come from?" I've heard from many Americans not just black that they are constantly force to identify themselves with a different country. Seeing that no one wants to believe that anyone is truly from America.

  1. Although we live in a diverse world there are still people that are prejudice and there always will be people, even if our president is black. On that note, this video reminded me of how when OBAMA was elected how the media made sure to say that he was half white and it was a huge deal for them to include that. Its crazy to think that racism still exist, but I guess now the new word for it is stereotyping.
