The Guiness brewing comany has long been a symbol of ireland as well as Dublin. Stared in 1759 by Arthur Guiness with a 1000 year lease in Dublin, guiness has grown to become one of the worlds most famous beers. OVer 1.9 billion pints are sold annually and it is brewed in over 50 countries. Guiness acounts for more than 20% of irelands overall GDP.
